Top Ten Baby Names
The top ten baby names listed below represent the most
popular names in the U.S. for the year 2004 (the most current year with detailed
naming records). If you're searching for a great name for your new baby boy or
girl, and you can't find one in this list that is appealing, check out our
larger list of the top baby names.
Keep in mind that the popularity of a given baby name is
often fleeting. Many times, it's based on something in the news or a famous
celebrity. While that's all well and good, you may not want to choose a
particularly strange name just because it's in this year's top ten list. Your
baby will have to live with his or her first name for a lifetime, after all.
Consider how the name you choose will serve your child as he grows up.
You may want to look at some top ten baby name lists from
previous years, so we've added some links to popular names from some recent
years. You'll find them at the bottom of this page. Just click on the various
years and a new window will pop up with a top 10 list.
Good luck in your search!
